We welcomed Greg back to the PNW with a quintessential alpine lake hike up to Rachel Lake with day trip up to Rampart Lake. We had a group of guys itchin’ for fishin’ and enjoying the mountains – it had been a while! We went up on Thursday which allowed us to get a great campsite by the lake with plenty of room before the crowds came in Friday afternoon. The fishing was great, the weather was wonderful – sleeping outside without a fly to see the stars was a big plus – and the Mountain Boche Ball was epic!
The other exciting activity was the search & rescue operation we got to watch from the ledge overlooking the valley. Helicopters were circling and we watched as a Coast Guard Copter hovered, dropped into the valley and took off towards Seattle. Glad it wasn’t one of us!
